I'm starting in January and have a few questions:

1) I know that all first term med students live in double occupancy rooms with a kitchenette and bathroom. Are these essentially studio apartments? How big are they? Does anyone have pictures of the rooms? I seem to only be able to find pictures of the buildings themselves.

2) What is the difference between "Policy 1" and "Policy 2" forthe student health insurance? I can't seem to find a description of each policy anywhere.

If you go into your "my sgu" account and click on health insurance and then health insurance options you will find the information.

if i remember correctly option 2 is cheaper and has a higher deductible.

Stay away from the University's health insurance. Some of my friends who have needed health care (and were on the University's insurance plan) ended up paying 90% out of pocket.

Is this under this years health insurance plan? I've read on VMD that SGU switched insurance carriers this year, from Mega to United Health Care. If this is the case, has anyone had any experience with the new company? Does it still suck?

Do a search at Flickr.com for the pictures of the room. The rooms are pretty small.
