I would agree. Anatomy is decent, some errors here and there, but I think it's a great suppliment to netters and moore (in fact I personally like it more than moore).
The Biochem BRS is great too, but in all honesty it it based on one of the books we get (Mark's), and takes all of its diagrams from there and just condenses it. The best part of it are the questions (some of which can be insanely tough, but are a good way to practice). |

Which BRS Biochem are you talking about though? There are two on Amazon, BRS Biochem and Molecular Biology (the Green one) and BRS Biochemistry (the pink one). I believe the pink one is older, but from reviews I read there are supposed to be a LOT of errors in the questions for the green one. Can anyone compare the two?

Really the best thing about the BRS Anatomy book is the diagrams and the content...the questions are crap...the majority of them are well beyond the scope of the anatomy course and while are excellent prep for the boards, are largely non-testable.
I agree with what AJ posted up there, take everything the BRS biochem (green one) has with a grain of salt...they have an uncanny number of errors for a published book. That being said, I have copies of both...I use my BRS Anatomy a little more than I use my BRS biochem. I also have a copy of Rohen's colour atlas which is relatively useful twice/term...whenever there's the virtual anatomy practical...other than that, it keeps my bookshelf from floating away. |
