Hey, thanks for the insight into the Jan '09 class....for some reason though, my friend at SGU told me there is some drawback with the Jan. class, I can't remember exactly what however.
And to answer your last question, I'm Canadian |

Hey everyone!
I'll be joining you guys for the Aug 08 class! I received the call around end of april and sent in my deposit last week. Just wondering...have you guys already heard back about your dorm/roommate matches? Thanks! |

But the advantage to that is that you have about 6 months off between the end of 2nd year and start of 3rd year clinicals, so you can take the time to really study for Step 1 USMLE. August students, by contrast, have only a month and a half (or max 2 months) to study for Step 1. So if you don't get in August '08, I recommend you try for Jan '09 instead of August '09, so that you get a 6 month head start and can get a welcome break at the end of 2nd year. Then again, I highly recommend you apply to US schools for '09 as well, and do it now - early. If it doesn't work out, you still have SGU for Jan. |

Hey thanks for the information, so seems like the Jan class actually works out pretty well then. I applied late to SGU so by the time I applied all the august '08 seats were filled (I think waitlist began in April). Yea I will definitely begin working on my AMCAS essay very soon.
Thanks for the help once again. |

So..its been awhile now since anyone posted they got accepted for the Grenada program. Some of us were thinking waitlist didn't really mean 'full' class at SGU...I guess we were wrong...and I'm still waiting to hear back from the adcom:/

It doesn't mean full. Why would they still be interviewing and why would the deadline be June 15th? They know competitive candidates that were waiting to get into the US will submit in the summer. Also, not everyone who gets into SGU posts on VMD. Quite a few people in my class were accepted 3 or 4 weeks before classes started and had to haul butt to get it all done in time and get down here. If you are good, they have room.

I'm also still waiting to hear on SGU and have already paid my first deposit to hold my Ross spot for September (and I have another deposit coming up). My counselor's been in touch with me since I told her about my Ross acceptance a couple weeks ago but still hasn't been able to get a decision for me from the AdCom. She says they have not started numbering the waitlist though.
So, don't sweat. There's still hope for us waiting to hear back from the committee. |

I applied to SGU in December, interviewed in February and got accepted in March. I'm Canadian and these are my stats for future applicants: GPA 3.77 science GPA 3.88 MCAT 25M. I will be attending SGU in August 2008. Looking forward meeting you guys down there in August.
