Hmm that doesn't help - it reminds him that he's going to have to work one more year before he can retire.

A better sell would have been: going to SGU would allow him to successfully retire a year earlier, hence evening things out.

This should be an easy decision. Here's two Major reasons why you should pick SGU over SMU:

1. SGU has all 50 states, SMU doesn't.

2. SGU has access to Stafford (Federal) loans, SMU doesn't. This is big if you need to finance your education. Many of the major lenders have filed for bankruptcy protection or are not accepting new applications temporarily.

Hmmm just got accepted. Ok now onto more important things. How do we manage to watch college football games on Saturdays? Any SEC kids coming?

Congrats to you Milaca! I hope to be joining in your cheer and optimism soon.

If you look at SGU's website at the demographics of the "top previous institutions" that SGU has accepted students in the past, 3 of those are SEC schools. I think of the "top previous institutions" list due to the sheer, overwhelming populace at these schools. Those 3 SEC schools have all been to BCS games lately.

I, myself, am a BigXII guy coming from a BigXII school, but I understand and respect the nature (cannibal as it is) of the almighty SEC.

SGU always has room, if you are a stellar candidate. Either they take you now or later but if you're good, you can get in the day before classes start.

Milica, I can't speak for the incoming 1st termers... but I can assure you that we here are already planning for Saturdays in the Fall. Extra studying must be done Thursday and Friday, because tailgating begins in my room at 9 am. And as for SEC, I am diehard LSU, with my 2 roommates coming from Florida and Arkansas. It's going to be a fun season.
