I've seen on various threads that if you start the jan 09 term, you will be in the match pool for 2013 and not 2012. And you are saying that regardless of Jan 09 or AUg 08, you will enter the match in 2012. Could you explain a bit more about how it all works out?

Look up, on the right. There's a "search forums" link, or something similar. Click on it. Type in "jan/aug timeline" or some variant on that, and click "search". Something should pop up. If it doesn't, try different words. Eventually, you'll find it

Rokshana was giving you the timeline for January '08, and I believe you were looking at starting in January '09. So, add one year to the months/years she gave you and you'll see the Jan '09 class matches in 2013 with the Aug '09 class.

Jan '09:
Basic science: Jan '09 - Dec '10
Study for step 1: Dec '10 to May '11
Clinicals: May '11 through Dec '12 or so
Match in spring of 2013 (applying in fall of 2012)

thanks but thats not exactly what I had in mind. are you an admissions counselor? didn't she say jan 09' goes with aug 08'? If jan 09' goes with aug 09' then aug 08' goes with jan 08'. what an existential dilema. thanks.

January 09 goes with August 09. You will apply for residencies for 2013
