Yea I applied to Michigan State and Wayne State....got the secondary but no interview after that. However I think I applied a bit too late - mid October. From what I have heard those two schools seem to admit the most Canadians, but this is my first time experiencing the American system. Do you think I should be trying at other schools??

Hey Canuck...
Thats sooo funny. I applied to those universities too and didn't get an interview call after handing in my secondary. And my stats are pretty much the same as yours lol. (except your GPA is a tad higher than mine) Rokshana, I think we have very similar opinions. To tell you the truth, I'm thankful that SGU has given me the opportunity to study medicine. I'm very familiar with the evils (if you may...) of being an IMG, since both my parents were IMGs in Canada. It is very commendable if you get through the system. I'm trying to mentally prep myself for the next 6+ years. You seem like a great person to get advice from! What is the biggest piece of advice you can give to us newbies??? |

Well best of luck with whatever you decide. And watch yourself down there in New Orleans...been there...no thanks not again. Have you visited since Katrina? It is crazy...at least it was last year and I don't think too much has changed outside of the 'burbs.
