I asked her why all the Canadian students seem to be receiving their acceptances so soon, and she said that their files are handled separately from those in the U.S. That was fair enough.. until I saw that many of the people that interviewed on March 29th in the U.S. have already received acceptaces. This means that the admissions committee must have met since my interview. I emailed four other people that also interviewed on the 19th and they have received no word either. I called my admissions counselor about this and she told me that the admissions committee still hasn't met since the March 19th interview, and that these student's interviewers probably turned in their applications early. This did not make sense though, because if the others who interviewed on the 29th received acceptances, and those that interviewed on the 19th haven't received acceptances, regardless of when the March 19th interviewers submitted their applications, this means that the admissions committee DID meet since March 19th..

Can anyone tell me what's going on??

I need some advice here, and please bear with me -- I understand what I'm asking has been asked thousands of times before in this forum. I've read over a dozen or so of the same requests, but I feel my circumstance is a bit unique and that's what I'm asking.

I was interviewed by SGU on March 3rd 2008 for entrance into the August 2008 class for Medicine. After my interview, my interviewer explained he would recommend me to the committee but it will be their decision ultimately to accept or deny me... my interviewer also explained it may take about a month or so for them to decide on. Now, I know it has been 1 month and almost two weeks but I haven't gotten word yet.

I've been pretty patient, opting not to be pushy. The only recent contact I have had with my counselor was to inform them that I have new grades and supplemental experiences I'd like to add to my application. This was about two weeks ago. I did not hear back from them, I tried to send a similar email one week ago and no response. I decided to send my transcripts and information regardless.

I dunno what's up. Prior to my interview, my counselor was so prompt with replying to me and overall was very helpful. But I'm curious about what's going on now. I'd like to know but at the same time I don't want to be pushy. What do you recommend me to do? At the very least I want to know if my transcripts and information got there and has been folded into my application. Ideally, I'd like to know the status of my application. Do you recommend I call? What else could I do... other than wait and be patient?

Your situation is very similar to mine.. Get in contact with your admissions counselor. Unfortunately, mine is not that nice, and whenever I call her, I feel like she is more annoyed and never willing to explain things to me.. but yeah.. just call yours (hopefully it's not the same person that I have)to make sure that your transcripts & updated info were received.

Hating Waiting

Everyone seems anxiously awaiting hearing about their acceptance, and here I am anxiously waiting on my application to be finalised. I think my references sent their letters via extremely slow snail mail. Is anyone else in this hate waiting boat in regards to waiting on an interview?
