The AMCAS conversion guide can be found on their website if you click on AMCAS 2008 Resources. There's a link there on for 'Grade Conversion Guide'. Sorry, I don't have enough posts to include a link in my message...

Scroll to the bottom of Page 4 to get the conversions for various Canadian grading schemes. Canadian grades are scaled up due to a very different marking scheme than the US.
I have a pretty terrible MCAT score otherwise I would have applied for US schools. I guess I could retake it...for the third time...but I'm not sure how welcoming US colleges are for Canadian students and SGU was a great opportunity to study abroad.

My orthopedic surgeon told me about it. One of his colleagues from the US went to SGU.

Hey guys...just found out today that I'm accepted for this August! For all those hard-luck cases, I was one too (I posted my stats somewhere on the chances thread), so if anyone wants any more details about my application and/or process, please feel free to P.M me. Just a tidbit thats been mentioned a billion times by now, but I emailed them my AUA acceptance letter and my admissions counselor said that greatly sped up the process for me (I applied mid-Jan, interviewed March 11). See you all in Grenada!

If you really want to be in a US MD program....I say you give it another shot and reapply. I suggest you talk to admissions folks from schools you were really interested in and ask for suggestions to improve your application. Good luck!

I applied to the U of A but my MCAT score was not good enough and I wouldnt have been competitive despite a good GPA and clinical experience.
