mcat help

I suck at VR, i know it I can't deny it and I can't seem to be able to change it. BUT, when it came to physical sciences... i totally ripped it. How I did it: did all 1 million practise questions in princeton review's book...
Recently, Physical sciences has become harder on the MCAT because the mean PS at ontario med schools is down to a 9 from 10 (trust me this is a good indicator, n=~8000) --> seems like the section is getting a bit more abstract which means that you really need to understand the theory before being able to answer the questions.

In my personal opinion the section that you can change the most on a test is the PS because you can really study for it... (and maybe even **, but i never studied for this so I couldn't say)

So if you bombed PS you could prob bring it up to a 13 or 14 with hard work... as for VR or ** i can't say...

good luck studying

p.s. don't let statistics deter you, my friend went from 8 to 13 in VR --> that is the largest statistical improbability in the universe considering the insanity of that section and jumping from 50th percentile to 97th...

question about LORs

I have a question about LORs for you Americans out there... how do you apply to several schools and send your LORs there. For example, I applied to 10 US schools and had to get all my referees to mail out the letters individually to all 10. Is there a way to consolidate the letters without knowing their contents (confidential) and sending them out to as many schools as I want at my convienience?

I used Interfolio for all of the schools I applied to accepted it. Basically you have your teacher either upload your L.O.R. or snail mail it to them. From there you pick what schools you want and hit send. It costs a couple bucks, but definitely worth it.

Yeah...definitely go with that. Most medical schools want you to use some sort of electronic mailing service....SUNY Buffalo is the only school I know of that doesn't want an electronic letter.

Anything above around a 31, luck starts coming into factor and for you to score in the 35-40 range, there is luck involved. I wouldnt retake your MCAT, as the chances of you going down is pretty great,

AAMC: MCAT: Applicants/Matriculants and Retesters Data Tables

here is retesters data from AAMC. Keep in mind most people on these charts are retaking it from poor score, probably 7 or lower on the sections.
If I'm not breaking 35 on the AAMC practice tests I won't be taking it.

One thing thing I found VERY helpful was the audio osmosis. I listened to that over and over and over again. I listened more than i did problems. If you know everything they talk about... the MCAT doesnt stray much from there or from the EK books. Just advice for those studying for the MCAT.
