Getting down there
Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting down to the island on Aug 11th when the dorms open, and was wondering how you seasoned veterans usually get your airline tix (expedia w/e) and which airline would be great too. Thanks!!

I flew Air Jamaica for my time in Grenada and give them a glowing review in comparison to other other airlines that fly to the Caribbean. They allowed me to carry more luggage weight than any other airline (which meant more food) and it was a direct 4 hour flight from JFK. It was a great experience, except trying to get home in Aug '05 when a hurricane hit Jamaica and delayed Air Jamaica flights by a couple of days. Otherwise, that one instance, I would recommend this airline to anyone flying down to Grenada as long as: 1). they still provide direct flights from JFK 2). Ms. R the school travel agent can still get you a good deal on the flight. I don't remember for sure, but I think I used to pay $680-$700 roundtrip. By the way, Air Jamaica was the only airline I flew in the Caribbean that never lost my bags.

yeah on orbitz air jamaica definitely had the cheapest tix, but I just called AA and they had round trip tix for $730 taxes fees etc. (with the promotional code included)
I didn't even think about lost luggage as an issue, but what are the insurance policies for all these airlines? |

Hey everyone,
I was accepted into FOM for Aug 08 but told that I would be re-considered for MD program at the end of this semester when my final grades are in...does anyone know if you have to pay for FOM by May (thats when it seems like all the money is due, even though they tell you you get financial aid at the end of may..) and if you are promoted to the MD program, do they put your money toward the MD program? Very confused, admissions counselor not helpful. THANKS! |

interviewing monday
ok guys, so I'm reading all that you have written... I withdrew my US apps because of MCAT (23P)- Cum GPA 3.67 Science 3.89 (AMCAS). Assuming I would just take it again and reapply 2009. BUT- My girlfriend that is now in her 3rd year at SGU (in NY) said I HAD to apply SGU. My interview is on Monday... But if they suggest a MPH program, how do I tell them NO without offending them? And from my understanding everyone had 1 on 1 interviews- right? This guy in Los Angeles sent me an email saying its at a library, one to one and then group interview- anyone with similar experience? Just seems so off from the casual interviews you guys have all talked about.
Lastly, anyone have feedback on the 3 essays they ask you to elaborate on? Like... what they are? THANKS in advance! |
