i don't think that it was your lack of leadership/volunteer either. I worked two to three job since freshman year (i'm a college senior now). the first couple of jobs that I held were a waitress and an office assistant and that is why I got a job in the hospital to boost the hospital experience. but you work with a doctor, so its pretty much the same thing.
so swimchick i don't think you should concern yourself with that aspect too much.

I did some have some leadership though...I used to run review sessions for general chemistry and was a junior TA. I even gave a lecture to 120 students...same thing with a freshman geography class.

yes i am very curious as to why they rejected your application. Can you call and ask? As everyone here did - I would absolutly recommend it!

wow proteinpowda,
that really stinks. it's like sometimes I just don't get it. your gpa and your mcat are good enough for st. george's and even good enough for US schools (in my opinion, not in reality of course). I have been reading your posts and you sound like a knowledgeable, sophisticated and congenial person so I'm sure your LOR's were good and that your interview went well. I have a 2.3 undergrad, 3.56 post-bacc and 24R MCAT (twice! P7, V9, B9 were my best of each section) and now I feel just hopeless with your bad news. In my opinion I had an extremely difficult interview for which I was well prepared for and thought I did well. I had wonderful LOR's and 5.5 years clinical research experience in Hem/Onc and am sure I will one day make a good physician. I was already rejected from AUC and just thought since being invited for an interview maybe SGU will give me my second chance that everyone deserves. Your news is so discouraging to everyone on this forum waiting for acceptance. I just hope you can understand, as I am preparing for, that everything happens for a reason and you can only believe that it was the best thing for. Just know that something better lies ahead. Good luck in all your endeavours.

Protien- I'm really sorry to hear about that... this med school stuff is getting rediculous.
what i think is important though for is not to give up--this is for you and everyone who has been disheartend when they read that you were rejected.
we don't have a clue why- i don't think you should lose hope- there are a few more caribbean schools....and everyone else, whohasn't gotten their response yet...there's always hope.

who knows

Well finally my application is complete, darn the LORs taking so long. This is really quite disconcerting news about the rejections. Lets see what happens to a 3.0 and a 32 mcat.
