Hi ameyer,
I just interview in NY as well on 2/26! I sent in my app on 12/31 and was notified of interview on 1/31. Who told you they would review the app this weekend? I received an email from my admissions counselor that she received my interview summary and my file was presented to the commitee for a final review and that the porcess takes 6-8 weeks. Maybe they will review mine sooner?

So if you get into another school before SGU its a good idea to let them know.

Looking forward to seeing you all there in August!!
Hi 4jl5,
CONGRATS! Would you mind posting your stats? I had an interview last tuesday but haven't heard anything. (I am prepared to wait 6-8 weeks, but the more posts I see of acceptances the more anxious I will get).

I'm from kingston, Ontario (close to toronto) and was interviewed in Toronto about 3 weeks after they got my app. My stats are 3.3 on Ontario gpa scale (3.4 if calculated by AMCAS) and 27Q. I got my acceptance 1 week after my interview.

i got into AUC a weeks before my SGU interview and told SGU and my advisor said she would tell the admissions commitee to try and expedite the decision so that I wouldnt have to pay the depost for AUC if accepted to SGU. I got my decision 1 week after my interview which is fast so it wouldnt hurt to tell your advisor u got into AUC.

I have just applied to SGU for Aug '08...I'm thinking I should apply to another school as a back up but can't decide btw AUC or ROSS. From this thread, it seems like most of the students are opting for AUC. I actually already completed the application for Ross(just stopped before submitting to really think about it due to the clinical mess). Any suggestions, anyone?
My stats are 3.2sGPA, 3.4cGPA, MCAT 1st attempt: 28R(10**/9V/9PS), 2nd attempt: 28P(9BS/9V/10PS)...i really have my fingers crossed for SGU though...oh i wish i wish i wish lol

Did they give you the interviewer's contact info? I had to contact my interviewer on my own to set up our meeting...

This is what the email said...
"I hope this email finds you well. We have received your file back from
the Committee on Admission and you have been granted an interview for the
August 2008 MD program. We will present your file to our interview
coordinator. We will be contacting you shortly with the
details regarding your interview. We will try and accommodate you as much
as possible in terms of the interview time and place. Please contact me
upon receipt of this email, should you have any questions about this
determination."

It says shortly, but what's "shortly"...one week, two, or a month?
o well, i have no choice but to wait.

I would think "shortly" is no more than a week to 10 days, maybe?? My wait time was considerably less. If the letter says to contact him/her with any questions than maybe you can email them with questions to get an idea of when, if they know, and to make sure you didn't delete the email or have it filtered to the dreaded spam-box.
