here's a question. if i do the semester of FOM, totally hypothetical- an dI don't plan on doing poorly- trust me. but the question is if i decide not to do St.george for med school would I apply to other medical schools as Transfer...even though i wouldn't be considered a med student?

--- interesting isn't it? LOL

No you would not be applying as a transfer.
1A) I'm not so sure you take actual med school courses the first semester.
1B) Even if you did pretty much every school in the US (unless you're transferring to another school in the Caribb) has a unique structure for years 1 and 2 so you can't exactly transfer since the courses would not be the same. For example UofArizona uses an integrated block structure..they teach you everything cardiac..then everything renal etc.
SGU goes more traditional format.
So I believe you can only transfer between year 2 and 3 but don't quote me on that.
And unless you're transferring to another Caribb school transferring is pretty hard to do. See The rumors were true for more info on that

Just got in!!!!!!

Just found out I got in today. I had my interview last week so I'm surprised that some ppl have to wait 2 months for an answer. I did however let them know that I had got into AUC and that they wanted a 500$ deposit by March 18 so that may have been a reason they informed me of my acceptance relatively quickly.
So if you get into another school before SGU its a good idea to let them know.

Looking forward to seeing you all there in August!!

aahhhh! hey ProteinPowda or swimchick, did you apply to any other school besides SGU? If not, I am theorizing that it may be your hold up. I remember that I told my interviewer I applied to AUC as well. Although at that time I had not been accepted yet. It may have sped up my application quite a bit. It makes sense to me, if you havent applied to other schools then there is no rush to make a decision on you.

Hi ameyer,
I just interview in NY as well on 2/26! I sent in my app on 12/31 and was notified of interview on 1/31. Who told you they would review the app this weekend? I received an email from my admissions counselor that she received my interview summary and my file was presented to the commitee for a final review and that the porcess takes 6-8 weeks. Maybe they will review mine sooner?
