Yes...Ross is adding more spots, but not many...and how long will they be able to keep them? Ross may stabilize the situation before you make it to that point...or it may not.

Med school is expensive and a huge time investment and you've worked too hard to get here only to potentially have it all go downhill because your clinical schedule was messed up.

Just my 2 cents
trust me 2 cents are totally welcome... all of these "out loud" process of thinking is helping it's good to see if the points i'm making in my decision are valid or not...you guys are reaffirming so many of my own points that it's just reassuring

Hi c14elia,
I would like like to post a comment on your acceptance to FOM and your question regarding starting Ross in May. First of all CONGRATS to both! Either way you know you will be a doctor one day!

I just had my interview for SGU. The letter for the interview invite said I would also be considered for FOM, did yours say that? Did you get a letter of rejection to the SOM or was it just a letter of acceptance to FOM? Do you mind telling me your STATS since I am right behind you in the app process and hopefully in the same boat? Did you apply to Ross for May semester or August?

And to answer your question, because I see a few people telling you to go to SGU FOM, if I got accepted to SGU FOM and to Ross in May I would definately have to go to Ross. The main determining factor is simply starting 2 semesters earlier (8 months). Obviously SGU is my first choice since I sent my app in 2 months ago and Ross I sent in on Saturday just in case I don't get accepted to SGU. But if I had applied at the same time and got Ross for May I would just get up and go! I am regreting not applyig for Ross for May too. I guess it really depends on if your my ripe old age of 27, 28 in June.

Thanks for your input...

Well you guys gotta also think of it this way..if you're delayed a semester since you started do FOM that's like starting in January...from what I read before aren't there some perks with being ahead of the game in terms of Match with starting in January?

Your reasoning makes sense until you factor in delays at Ross caused by waiting for clinical spots to open up. The SGU student will probably catch up to you and finish first, without the headache and worry.

All the best with your application.
