Georgetown, GWU, Maryland, Penn State, Eastern Virginia, Chicago, Virginia Commonwealth, Louisville, Drexel, Albany, Wake Forest, couple others. I'm a resident of Maryland.

I'm afraid there is not deep dark secret (at least I can't think of one)... only problem might be I didn't do many volunteer/club type activities in college because I focused on my fraternity and school work.

Who knows.. I still have a few (2-3) application pending but I'm not holding much hope at all since I haven't been contacted for an interview yet.

wow! you are scaring me-it boggles the mind that someone who is a US citizen, with a 3.8 and a 31 isn't even getting interviews. I mean the schools you applied to are reasonable enough, esp EVMS, MCV, and Drexel.
i'm still trying to see what you could have done differently? when did you put your apps in?
you really should try to talk to a Dean of Admission (the lady at MCV is very approachable) and ask what about your application needs improvement.
good luck!( i was just teasing about the deep dark secret,BTW!).

haha, if you guys think its sucks imagine how i feel.. as far as my MCATs, they were even.. 11 bio, 10 verbal, 10 physics and an R in writing.. However, this MCAT followed a 26O MCAT (probably my problem).

does anyone honestly believe calling and talking to a counselor at my pending applications would help at all? I feel like I would just be talking to a secretary and never get through to the head guys...

It might help...I was rejected by every US school I applied to. While my MCAT score was awful I wanted other suggestions to improve my application from admissions people...so I called 3 schools in my state and have meetings set up with the admission directors.

have you considered DO schools? it is almost a guarantee for you that they will grant you an interview. i don't believe that the previous 26O mcat score would have hindered you much...my gf got a 26...then a 29 with a 3.7 and got into ut southwestern. i dont believe that her 26 hurt her much at all.

I think I would prefer going to St. George's than a DO school. Besides, isn't it almost easier to get into a D.O. school than St. George's?

i went from a 27 to a 30 and that at least got me a couple of interviews and a couple of waitlists (but then i still didn't get in..)

talk to a Dean if you can- at least you could find out what is going on...really...i'm stunned...no preference as a Md resident?? you should move to vermont or georgia or something...
