the goal eventually is 450 per term- and i heard it from Chancellor M.

the N for the histo midterm was around 390 if i remembered it right from the posting on the histo office bullentin board

I heard about a lecture hall being built that can accomodate about 700 students.....

is that finished yet?

I heard that too. Once the GSP program has students who finish their first year they will head to GND for year 2 & that will eventually add another 100+ students to the mix so that would be pushing 500.

700 students for a class? thats insane. why not split the class into two or three even so thats its easier to manage.

i don't think a term will ever get to 700- but a graduating class (aug +jan classes) will easily be 700- probably going to be >600 this year- but hopefully they will keep the graduation ceremony split- that will keep it managable.

the new lecture hall is "scheduled" to be done by december 2007

I'm a first termer now, and my class is about 420 students. It is the biggest they've had so far. If everyone comes to the lectures, some people actually have to sit on the stairs, so you have to go in and reserve your seat about 1 hour before the class starts, just to be able to get a good seat.
