    safe?

So, I was just wondering what island(if any)is considered to be the "safest island"... I am planning on applying to the big four next year and I just want to know how they compare in terms of where I will be living. By safety i'm talking about hurricanes and crime rate. Any info will be much appreciated thanks.

if im not mistaken, i believe sgu has re-done all their classroom/dorm buildings to be hurricane proof (just as if u were going to school in FL where u could also get hit by one). i believe they have security at the entrances of the campus. i only know of sgu, so hopefully someone else can tell u more about the others.

I know Grenada is just below the hurricane belt. Campus is pretty safe from what I've seen/experienced. There have been some robberies off-campus (especially at night when kids leave the local bar) around True Blue as well as in Lance Aux E'pines.

I live in Grand Anse right next to the "Round Houses" and it seems pretty safe here. No problems as of yet, but we try to be smart and not walk around too much if it's very late. My wife doesn't walk down the road to the mall/store after dark just to be safe. I've done it several times at night w/out any problems.

Most (all??) houses have gates and/or bars on the ground-floor windows, though.

As far as hurricanes, Grenada is the least likely to get hit (despite what happened in 2004 and 2005) compared to Dominica and St Maarten.

Not so sure which is the safest with regards to crime: they all have crime, (Honestly, the school is the biggest thief down there) but all are safer than up here in NY where you do your clinicals. Just use common sense and you will be fine.

It's pretty dangerous here... you get rabies from stray dogs, like the one in my avatar
