can anyone tell me how important it is to know all the cerebral arteries and veins and the parts of the brain or brainstem they supply or drain?

yep i concur. it's important stuff because clinically a lot of the times the lesion is because of the blood supply, so you must know what supplies what parts of the brain and what that will cause.

Try to get your hands on the Neuro Netter Atlas---is is much better than the one recommended and has additional neuro slides than the regular Netter.
