Okay! I just talked to Ed Invest, and to the school about loans. The school is frantic with August stuff and says that our financial packages will come out late Sept./October. BUT...Ed Invest said that as soon as they receive the school cert. I am approved for full cost! So that's great news.

Stats, I think were listed at the beginning of this thread...but mine are 3.3 and 29R =)

So Just to let you know. A counclor from SGU has confirmed to me that GSP graudates are not eligble to practice medicine in Califorina and New Jersey at this time. The counslor went on to tell me that they are working at the legal aspects of it to correct the issue.. My guess is who knows...

i just called them, and they say that they accept only 30 students to the GSP program. Which does not sound right to me because i saw atleast 70 students on the facebook group accepted to jan 08 GSP..

When they say practice, do they mean residency, licensure or both?

From talking to the NJ board, they didn't say ineligible for licensure. They didn't even say ineligible for residency. Just that it would be a grey area and not straightforward. Atleast not right now.

Yeah, Cali is still reviewing the program so as things stand right now, that makes sense.

Anyone else miffed about not being informed about this earlier?
I thought i specifically remember hearing that those from the GSP would have the same opportunities as those from GND, particularly when it came to residency and licensing.

Yes, I am disappointed as well. I might talk to someone at SGU next week to make sure. Has anyone else asked??

I asked to talk to a med school counselor, when I called their office..and they connected me to her..
I asked her, if my stats are lower, would I have a better chance in GSP than the real program in grenada..she said no, the stats requirement is the same..
