I know for a fact from someone legitimate from SGU admin that as of now, you can't practice in NJ, California, and UK. UK is probably permanent b/c they have a new rule in place after some recent fraud by another school. The rule to be able to practice in the UK is that you have to have done 2/4 years of med school in the country where the school is chartered so most people won't be eligible to practice in UK if they do 1 year UK, 1 year GND, 2 years US. You could do one of the last 2 years in Grenada rotations to practice in UK. They say NJ will almost certainly be approved and California will be difficult b/c its got strict policies but that eventually it should be approved.

i just called--cali and NJ still haven't approved. and my advisor told me that if you plan to start this program before it has been approved--the decision for approval might not be retroactive.

Yeah that sounds right... unless the state boards say anything different.. I would just make the assumption that you can't EVER work there. UK is most likely also out of the question... but then again when you get here you may decide that this is a good thing. England is not the best place to live and work. I was pretty surprised with the difference in standards in the UK compared to USA and CANADA.

Could you elaborate on the housing situation in Newcastle? Is it really THAT bad? I'm starting to regret my decision for enrolling in GSP...Are there any positives, there has to be some?!?

Could you elaborate...more on this comment.
What do you mean that UK isn't the best place to work in and how are their standards different from that of Canada and U.S.
I would think that Canada and U.K. would have similar standards considering the Queen is still a figure head and a person of importance.
