2008 ERAS/Residency Interview Season
So since the season has offically begun, I figured we could use a thread that gave us a place to say what field we finally decided to do, and gather any advice about what to expect (thing to do, not to do...) and, of course, any problems we are encountering.
I'll start (sort of) I know I'm looking at IM, but with CK 2 days away, haven't finalized the number of programs I'm applying... PS- can we sticky this please?

I submitted my application September first and it took up to September 4th for all my documents to upload. I'm applying to Surgery.
So far I haven't run into any problems but if any of you guys have any questions about ERAS or the application process I'd be happy to answer them. You should try to look at programs individually because they all have different requirements in terms of letters. Had I not checked I wouldn't have had any idea that a lot of surgery programs require 3 letters from surgery. Our school recommends two letters for the specialty you are applying to...

Step 2 CK and ERAS
Hi,
I just wanted to get a sense of when most SGU ppl were submitting applications and when most were taking their CK by. A lot of IMG forums say that IMGs need both step1 and 2 scores in to be considered for interview but it seems like that's not the case for us. What's our timeline so that we are still ok for interviews etc. I'm scheduled to take CK at the end of this month and then i'll work towards submitting my application by begining oct..... will i be disadvantaged if I delay CK by a little? what's the consensus? |

wow scott,
thanks for the reply...it's helpful... problem is I don't have time to work on the application right now cos studying...but i'll get on it asap...i''ll try and have it in by end sept. I hope that doesn't ruin my chances of interviews at some places. good luck with ck. |
