to those applying for IM...
...how long after you submitted your app did you start getting interview invites?

i think it depends... i gotta couple a couple of days after my application was complete (except Dean's Letter) , others have a deadline after which they will consider applications...

i think the earlier you can get your application in, the better, but you maybe waiting a longer time to hear from some programs

you should submitt those apps the minute ERAS is open. YES it effects interview chances.

I got an interview 3 days after I submitted...interview slots fill up so you really need to get those apps out ASAP.

Good luck everyone in this crazy, crazy interview season! Is it just me or are IM programs taking a long time to hand out interviews??

got 7 IM interviews, but i applied sept 1st. october will be busy for interview calls.

no news....
... is always good news. seems like this application season is more competitive than I thought. A couple of programs told me they were waiting for my CS score- yes, I said it- CS score. For some reason they have some sort of blanket umbrella policy that all IMG- regardless if you are Carib American grad or not- need to have a passing CS score before they grant an interview. I believe these programs got burned in previous years by applicants who got a failing CS score after being granted an interview. I figured I'd share that tidbit out there.

you can't blame them though, if they find out you failed CS, you can't match 2008. there are no more spots open until march. it's a big risk.
