Kaplan Live Lectures Vs. Videos

Hi I am planning on just doing the videos for kaplan Step 1 study. it's a lot cheaper than live lectures and I can rewind or fast forward through the lecture. Also I get 3 months to view them, and the kaplan center is 3miles from my house.

Anyone think that live lectures are a lot better than the videos? why did you guys pick live lectures over videos or vice versa? The closest live lecture course would be probably 20 to 50min away from me.

thanks for any input.

it depends, i guess- i did the live lectures in atlanta for step I and i thought they were too fast paced to actually utilize that time as true study time- i ended up taking an extra 5 weeks after the course to go through everything and make sure it sunk in.

now i'm doing the videos for step II and they were too slow paced for me - go figure!!- but the beauty is that with the videos i could speed the file up (they sound a littel squeaky, but you get use to it) the good thing is that i have the flexiblity in my schedule, so if there is something i need to linger on, i can. My schedule is still a little stretched from my original goal, but just by 2 weeks (and that was because i couldn't figure out how to get my videos to go faster!)

the feedback that i have had from people who took the step II class and have watched the videos is that they are basically the same- i don't think you will miss much, unless you need the person to person interaction with the prof - and really i don't think you really even get a chance to do that anyway...
