Apparently, this whole situation with California and NJ was caused by "eager" students who decided to verify the validity of the GSP program on their own. This resulted in "poor" presentation of this program to the above two licensing boards; causing the Cali. board to initiate an investigation. SGU's original plan (as an extra preventative measure), I think, was to print transcripts to the GSPers as if they did their study in Grenada... Oh well.

NJ should be ok with 1 months or so.
California, however, will take some time.

yeah i am also curious about the source of this information!!!

what are you confused about? if you're in the GSP program as of now you can't get licensed to practice medicine in the states of NJ and California, but the school is working on getting the GSP program approved.

I am sorry if I confused some of you by posting that. I just wanted to give you more info on this situation. Although I can not name the person by his name, the source is very reliable (top brass at SGU).

Also, I am not sure if they will be able to accomodate all GSPers at GND for August 2007 term but some of you may still be able to switch to GND (for august 2007 and not January 2008).

Peace to you all

Good to know. I'm sure that we will hear an official word soon from SGU. Even though the liscensing issues with Cali and NJ were an unfortunate surprise, SGU responded responsibly and swiftly at much expense to the school.

probably the GSP transcripts would note that you are in the GSP somewhere on the transcript.

as for not mentioning 5/6th terms as being vinnies classes, well it is well documented that the 1st 4 terms of the MD program is in GND and the last terms (pre-clinical ones) are in Vinnies

actually its isn't documented that the post Ivan classes are held elsewhere (fla or ny)

actually i've never seen a documentation of WHERE a class is taken on ANY of my transcripts- just what institution they were taken with.

Right. I think it would be a lot of trouble to label every class with respect to a particular location. The whole transcript format would need to be changed! It is most likely, as rokshana suggests, that they will mention Global Scholar, GSP, ***** B. Taylor GSP, or something to that effect in the transcript header.

I don't know how it is at SGU right now but at the University of Toronto there's 3 campuses and it states on your transcript if you took a class at another location than the one you're registered at.
