Review Books for first term

Hey...I know people have talked about this through numerous threads, but I was wondering which review books in particular are recommended for first term students. Between BRS and High-yield?? And also, which subjects should we get review books for, I know they have plenty of BRS for nearly all subjects, but do you recommend getting one for each subject, or just the main ones?

It is very subjective. The best advice is for you to go to a medical bookstore and look at the different books. You have been a student long enough to have an idea of what kind of book type appeals most to you.

Aside from that, the exam questions come from the notes you will be given. Many times, a google search will give you a good explanation when the notes don't suffice.

Try to limit yourself to, at most, one review book per class. You'll find yourself with too many resources and not enough time. BRS is a pretty good bet for Biochem. Some people like it for Anatomy, but I found the notes, Moore, and Netter to be more than enough. Actually, you could probably get through the class (and do quite well) if you just used Netter extensively and ignored the others. Histo probably doesn't need a review book. I would look at the Embryo one because it's a bit more abstract of a class and good (color) diagrams can really make things easier. The assigned text is pretty good, if you don't read it then make sure to have a look at the relevant pictures. Good luck.
