I wanted to know if you bring your parents to orientation week what activities do they join and do they usually stay for the whole week or leave the weekend before class starts? I just don't want them to be bored after a day or two. Thanks

Not a problem, there are plenty of island tours, hikes, the rum runner cruise all organised by the school, there is plenty for them to do.
Peace out

yeah they'll be tours of the island that they can go on. then again it's a pain when your parents wake you up at 7am to go to the beach and you're still drunk cause you were drinking till 4am.

6118 points My parents are pretty cool, but I said they could do all the orientation week stuff they wanted and have a fun vacation for the low low price of dragging a bunch of my stuff here, and they had a fantastic time.
Rhum Runner I think is more of a student meet student thing though. Send them off to the nutmeg factory when you do it.

510 points It's better if the person who brings you (if a parental type person) has someone else other than you to do stuff with. That way it frees you up to meet and greet a little bit. I brought my mom and aunt and they had an awesome time - they were two little Indian ladies in saris and yes, they went on the Rum Runner too! And it works out great cuz they bring all your stuff and they stay in a nice resort that you can stay at before having to move into the dorms.
510 points My whole family is planning on coming...to help me lug some stuff over and get a nice vacation out of it. Since tickets are cheaper a day or two after school starts, I think they are going to stay til then. Does anyone know of any nice hotels in the area?
510 points I'm not really sure what the average hotel rooms are going for, but something around $100 a night per room?
