Thread: Too late to apply for August??

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if its too late for me to apply to SGU for Aug. 2007. I am planning on taking my MCAT on May 16 (first try) and then applying to SGU. Can I apply to SGU without that score and then send it in or do I have to wait til the score is released and then apply? I know its really late but I was just wondering when the deadline to apply was and if I still had a chance to get accepted or not. thanks!

You should contact the Admissions Office. The number is listed at thier website. They can give you a definitive answer. From what I know, the deadline for Fall is mid-June, so I would think you would be fine. You probably will have better luck applying for the Jan. class.

Yeah Jan class is supposed to be easier to get into with its less emphasis on grades. Buts that's just a rumour not something the university has said officially.

I applied in February, got my interview coming on Sat, Mar 31, and I take the MCAT on the 16th of May same as you. It is not too late, but git'r done!

They gave you an interview before you took the MCAT?? have you ever taken it before? This will be my first time and I thought they wouldn't look at the application until it was complete-MCAT, LOR etc.

yes, MCAT scores are a must. U can still apply but they would keep it aside as incomplete. more over it takes some time to get ur MCAT scores. Im not trying to disappoint U, but u have more chances for Jan 08. but I think U can still try for aug, U never know.....

Hello! I'm new here. I couldn't find an appropriate thread to post my questions (I didn't want to start one, only to find out later that there was already one in existence...)...so I thought I'd pose my questions here. I, too, have been wondering if it was too late for me to apply to SGU's August 2007 term, and the overall consensus is that it is not too late...yet. My next question is regarding my stats -- I've been postponing my application to SGU, because I wasn't sure if my stats were good enough:

overall GPA: 3.7
science GPA: 3.9
MCAT (most recent): 25R

Would I have a chance at SGU for the August 2007 term if I applied right now? Anyone?...

based on your grades you're good. I can't speak for how well you'll do on the interview but as long as you're normal you should be accepted, just not sure for which term.

Just out of curiosity, though, are you suggesting that it might be a little late to be considered for the August 2007 term, even if I submitted my application within the next few days?... Also, I forgot to mention that I have taken the MCAT multiple times (too, too many times), scoring all in the mid-20s...*sigh*... Do you, or anyone out there, think that multiple mediocre MCAT scores will keep me out of SGU?...

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this... Thanks!
