WHen do most applicants usually apply for August 2007 class?

Hey guys,
Im applying for the August 2007 class, i had an interview already, however i was told to retake my mcats..

.however, i will be taking mcats in April.. So my question is when is the application pool densely filled up, during which months on average?

IS the August 2007 class half full by now (february)? Completely full?

Just out of curiousity, im really worried with the timing and all...since i cant really do anything about my admissions status until they recieve my Mcat score and that will be in MAy.

Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly, but I do know that people will be applying up to the deadline in June.

As for the MCAT, you can take it earlier if you want (now that it's being offered many many times during the year).

the fact that they asked you to retake the mcat means that they're interested in you, but you need to slightly improve your application. I had to retake the mcats and then got an acceptance letter a few weeks after they released my score.
I don't think SGU has a deadline, think their applications are rolling, but i might be wrong since i applied more than 2 years ago. Also if the class fills up they will most likely put you on the accepted list for the Jan class.

Wow, thanks for the great news RussianJoo....
Im a little bit more hopeful now..
Im taking examcrackers and studying my butt off for this thing..

Do you think there is anyway, i can enhance my application even more besides mcat...
For example, im still volunteering at a hospital and im applying for a research assitant position once a week....hope this will help.

To answer THEINFERNO18....the next possible date to take Mcats is April 7th....so there is nothing i can do about this.....(january 30th was the other mcat..and i was not ready for it!)

They are probably looking for a score of 24-26. But it might depend on how smart your class is. Just study hard do your best and hopefully things will work out for the best. If the school wanted to reject you they would have done so by now.

You should have included all your volunteer work and research in your application. If this a new position it won't hurt to call up bay shore and let them know that you just became a research assistant at a hospital, they might ask you a bit about your research. I know during my interview that's the main thing my interviewer asked me, was to tell her about my research and my emt experiences.

basically apply whenever you are ready and have all your stuff to be sent in. sgu is on a rolling admission, so obviously the earlier the better. august class do tend to have a higher stats, so aim for a high mcat score. never hurts to get a higher score.

good luck

Thank you RussianJoo and Jaywalk for the advice!! i appreciate your help!
Im planning to write them a letter right now to update them on what I am doing...Is it okay if i substitute letter for a phone call. Im better at expressing my research experience through a letter format. =)

Deadline

Although SGU seems to be on a rolling admission basis, I read somewhere on their application website that says the application deadline for the class of Fall 07 is June 15th.
Good luck w/ your MCAT Roxy... I'm waiting for an interview from them right now.
