What bio_uci posted to start this thread was the original 7-page "Welcome to Grenada" that was written after my first term. Thanks to the interest shown on ValuMD and the help I had from Jess Kramer, "Welcome to Grenada" has expanded to cover every term and book in the first two years at St. George's University. I'd like to thank everyone that had encouraging things to say early on because it was that support that made us finish it.

Cheers, topher.

p.s. the new "sticky" is "Welcome to Grenada, A Student's Guide for Students"

Updates to the WTG guide

Hi everyone,

Jess Kramer and I recently went through another round of edits and additions for the new version of WTG. The Island Culture section has changed and the St. Vincent's section has been expanded to be more helpful. There are other little changes here and there.

It's off to the presses for the incoming class, and I wanted to take the time to say thanks to everyone that commented, both privately and on the website. Your suggestions made it a better guide.

As always, we're looking for writers interested in continuing the guide in our absence. If this is something that interests you, please contact us at welcometogrenada@gmail.com.

Cheers, topher.

Heyy...I was just wondering ..from all those already attending SGU, how important are laptops? DO professors post lectures online and is it pretty useful to have a light-weight laptop to carry on-campus daily?? I have one that weighs 5.4 pounds but im plannin to exchange it for a lighter one jus for convenience and so that I dont break my back carrying a laptop+heavy books around all day.. Any expert advice on the matter?
BTW..I recently started following the threads and they are OH-so-Useful!! Keep up the Awesomeee Work !

Umm..another qucik question..since im soo full of them at this point. Does the caribbean airlines LIAT allow you to check in 2 big bags and carry a small hand bag on the flight? I read it on :the student's guide to Grenada" that there's a chance that some airlines do not allow as much luggage as American airlines and that kind of freaked me out as IM trying to book my flight at the moment..
Thanks for all the help/suggestions!

SGU FAQ Wiki

Over the past 4 years, I've been noticing that a lot of the same questions come up again and again (i.e. cell phones, which class is better, advice for academics, etc). While running a search may get you the answers you need, it may also be out of date. So I was thinking, how about a FAQ for SGU students. Sort of a student-to-student advice guide on everything from academics to life in Grenada. I've set up a wiki for this purpose, since this format would allow people to keep the information up to date collaboratively, as well as add new topics. So what do people think - an interesting idea, or a waste of time?

If you want to check it out (though there is only a skeleton so far until I see if there would be interest in such a project), the url is Main Page - SGU FAQ Wiki

Rumors has moved on to bigger and better things (transferred to US school) and is not updating that site any longer.

There is a sticky here in SGU forum on what to pack.
