Applying for Fall 07, Chances?

Hi everyone,

I am sure there are many posts like this throughout the forum so I apologize in advance if I've angered anyone by the post.

I am in my 4th year at the University of Torono, in Canada and have applied to numerous medical schools. I am in the process of sending my application to SGU and wanted to know from studenst who have been through and are currently going through the process what were my chances.

GPA; 3.45
MCAT; 27 S, 11, 5, 11
300+ HRS VOLUNTEER WORK, President of Uni dental Club, 2nd dan black belt karate, Part time work with family physician, and performing an independant reseach project this year.

Thank you very much everyone and all the best. Hope to see you soon

I have a friend going to SGU right now with almost exactly, and I mean exactly, the same scores. She couldn't get into any US schools, but she's having a blast, and I mean a blast, at SGU. GL buddy =)

Hey guys, thnx for the help gain. I was just wondering, I have been looking around on the forum and have seen that alot of people say that it is very competitive to enroll for the fall session, and many say that they get waitlisted due to this problem. I just wanted to know, what is the likeliehood of being waitlisted? I assume that people entering the school have decent GPAs, since the cut off is higher, so Im just worried about not being competitive or maybe being waitlisted or something. Im sure Im being aranoid, but I guess it happens to you after realizing that your chances at everyschool in North America is slim to none lol. Tnx again guys.

Btw, are you guys at SGU now, or going to be going there soon? How is it anyway?

I think your GPA is slighly above avg and so is ur mcat... (compare to 2006 class) look at the website. No one will know about the fall2007 class, and i dont think anyone is getting waitlisted for fall 07, (yes for jan 2007 they are getting waitlisted, but thats because some people applied really late..)..

anyways do not worry, you should be fine.. no one will give you a definite answer here tho.
