MCATs

2yrs ago when I started, I was told by Bayshore that the main MCAT cutoffs' they look for are 8's in every section....... (generally) <-- before everyone jumps down my throat for the exceptions.

With the increased enrollment, I wouldn't be surprised if that number has increased or changed a bit in the last 2years.

Remember, SGU isn't the only school you can apply to. As well as applying to other schools, you can consider the MPH or Pre-Med programs as 'stepping stones'.

g'luck

Yeah I had the same stats as you, but had 2 years of research, and was an EMT for 4 years, and an RA like you. SGU told me to retake the MCAT before they made their final decision. I retook the mcats and got a 24, as soon as I sent in my new score about a week later the called me and told me I was accepted. You might get into the MPH or the FOM program, but I don't think you will be accepted straight into the Med program.

That one's going to be tough, because your GPA is above average (3.4 was the average overall GPA for this August's class, so average science GPA would be lower), but your MCAT is below average.

No one on these boards knows for sure. Your best bet is to call admissions and see what their reaction is.

Wow, it is higher than mine

Mine was 17, but with GPA little more than yours.

But, I am here in Grenada, didn't have to go any of other programs they offer here.

You don't have a chance to get into SGU with that score. you will be offered the conditional MPH route which sucks in my opinion... try applying to Ross or SABA, they will definetely take you.

could all these chances? threads be merged please?

and for those of you who just got your MCAT score- please don't start a new thread - look at the other ones- if the gpa and mcats are similar to yours- there is your answer - if not- post in one of them!
