    Downloading tv shows and such

    Hello

I live off campus and have "service" through C&W. What prograams/sites are best for downloading TV shows? I don't know much about how to do that kind of thing, so it would have to be pretty easy or have a great tutorial. Any input would be great, PM if you like. thanks

If you want to download shows legally, get iTunes from Apple. They have quite a few popular ones for $2 an episode.

I dunno, someone who feels they should support the production of their favorite shows so that there are future seasons of them.

It may help to avoid viruses that inevitably seem to enter computers with illegal downloads. If the computer used for downloading is the same one used for medical school, that would be very important. There is nothing worse than a computer crash (especially to a preventable virus) prior to exam time.

I've probably downloaded many, many terrabytes of data over the years and can say that in part due to the fact that I use a good antivirus and in part due to the fact that I download verified files (rather than simply doing a search for them) as well as not being an idiot and opening anything that looks suspicious that I've never gotten a virus yet. *knocks on wood*

I also suggest utorrent over azureus. It's lighter on resources and doesn't used that dreadful java thingy that slows down older computers (and new ones; it's just that they're so fast that it's not really noticeable).

Oh yeah, it's just good practice to keep backups of your important data. Unless a virus managed to destroy my hardware somehow, I could have my computer up and running on around an hour by restoring a drive image. I might lose some stuff (since I haven't made one in a couple weeks) but not that much since I also keep dual copies of important files.

Can you tell me what you are using to back up your data files? What brand external drives and how big are they? Do you have 2 different external drives? I am shopping around now to bring things in January.
Are you using flash memory cards? Size? How are you seperating data files and video downloads, etc?

    Thanks for any help!
