IMHO, and it's just me, they ought to worry about putting some freaking CHAIRS into the freaking ROOMS in SUPERDORM4 so those poor souls that live there can study sitting down before they worry about hooking it up to the internet...but that's just me being frustrated b/c I have a toothache (impaled myself on a dorito, well those tortillas that look like doritos). Anywho, chairs people, chairs. then the internet.

I was absolutely thrilled with what the chancellor had to say at the recent SGA meeting-I mean, at most US schools you never even *see* the chancellor, let alone get to sort of gang-rush him or her in a meeting and talk to him/her about piddly problems like getting internet in dorms, parking, chairs, new buses/routes, or any other problems you or the rest of your classmates have.

He was like "ok Mrs X (his secretary) write that down, get this done, you tell so-and-so I said to do this," I mean, he was nice-he actually gave a crap.

So hey, Dr M, if you're reading this-thanks. It means alot, just the whole bothering to come and listen-and when you come through for us, it means even more. (please excuse the little vent above, it's not directed to you )

....Anyway. So its been over a month now and the lines still aren't connected. I wonder what they're doing anyways as it looks like all the wires are already in place. I also see nobody doing any work these days. Although I think I saw someone this morning.

doesnt seem like that the whole campus or the dorm rooms will be "connected and online" by the end of this term. maybe by next term. but is that a shock to any of us really?

not shocked here. More shocked that they've gotten this far this fast.

How long did EMT say it took to build SD3? I think I remember him saying when he got down here it had a sign out front saying "new dorm 3, to be completed spring 03" and it was fall 04 and still not done (no windows or something.) But of course they made people live in there anyway..

yeah i am really shocked that I got internet hooked up.. they were really on schedule for sd1 and 3.

Actually. Its not necessarily. I see them here in SD2 every now and then. And yet, it looks like they've done nearly nothing this whole time. Weird.

You're right. I note that they have put the webpage has been updated and now says another week or two for SD 2 & 4. I guess we will know when we get the internet
