Good to hear that both SD 1 and 3 are now up and running! Awesome! Has anyone heard when they'll be starting on SD 2? I live in there and I have yet to see anyone working on ethernet here (we have the ports in the rooms like SD 1). I wonder what's going on.

Wow, internet right in the rooms. I remember the good ol' days there when there wasn't /any/ internet and I had to dial in to the US for online access. And I remember the fevered dreams of wired access in the new dorms that never came to pass ....

yep, in another 20 yrs, there will be those teletransporter thing like the ones in star trek built right into each room.
no more flying AA, AJ, LIAT, Carib Star. just hop into the teletransporter and boom you are back to your room back home or back on campus.

Don't despair that you haven't seen them working on it. I live in SD3 and I never saw anyone working on it but last Friday afternoon it started working. On the downside, I have heard that SD2 was going to be the last of the superdorms to be fitted but I don't know that for sure.

that makes sense, given that sd2 already has internet in the study lounge.

An unfortunate reality. The wireless is awful. I usually just walk to the Library or a lecture hall anyways. With enough people leeching onto it at one time, I sometimes can't get a connection even when sitting right next to the transmitter room. Not to mention the construction materials in these buildings weren't exactly designed for ease of radio signals.

Well, they've started workiing on SD2 this past week. I just very rarely ever see them. Anybody know how long it takes generally for them to finish once they've started?
