    Types of Stores

I was wondering what types of retail stores are around campus, ie clothing stores. I've heard people mention a mall. I know its a third world country so its hard for me to imagine any stores down there similar to the states. I just have no idea what to expect. Any feedback would be great. Thanks

there is a mall. but dont expect malls like CA or any other malls in the US. its a small mall with 4 restaurants in the food court. the mall is also where you can do your grocery shopping.
you will and can survive. the clothing is a bit expensive.

and expect nothing or very little and hope for the best and you might just be very suprise what gnd do have when u get down here

There is a pretty nice mall right near grand beach resort that not too many people know about. It is catered towards tourists so the stuff is nice. There is also another nice mall (la esplanade) by the cruise ship dock...nice stuff there.

It's just a strip mall... Grocery store on one end and a food court on the other - the building is shaped like an "L".

Think of older strip malls in the States that have been near vacated by the popularity of full scale shopping malls...

In my opinion, the clothing for sale is low quality (for the most part). Meaning, it's cheaper material made with relatively weak seams. The prices are quite steep for such low quality goods...

The funny part: The 'fasion-consious' Grenadians don't often buy their clothes in Grenada - they get them from the US! (When family send down a barrel or they go up to visit for a holiday)

You're welcome about the pics but I didn't take them and the person who took them really put the mall (and Grenada) in the best possible light. She's a good photographer. Somehow, some of Grenada doesn't look that good in person.

I was mainly surprised by the amount of produce and the selection.

If I end up going, I'm a halfway decent cook and I'm not picky about what I eat at all, so I'm hoping to be able to get enough from stores and produce markets to zip together pretty quick, healthy, and inexpensive meals, but with what I've read on the forum, was a little concerned about getting sufficient fruits and veggies.

It sounds like if I do get accepted, it'll be a good chance to detox from red meat, which I am wholeheartedly addicted to.
