I'm gonna go with tolerance since I don't get sick.

I don't eat out much but I drink copious amounts of tap water (unfiltered and unboiled) at home and at least a litre every day on campus (from the fountain/cooler).

Ha Nicks!

Thats funny that you restrict yourself to Nicks. When I was there 2 years ago there was a sizeable epidemic of gastroenteritis (vomiting & diarrhea) among my classmates that the fine folks in SGU's micro dept. traced back to the Mayo at Nicks.

I didn't get sick or the runs once while I was there and I drank the water and ate at most of the usual restaurants except KFC.

Bottom line is the water is safe (at least when I was there)

Enjoy the Drink

use the fountains

If you are stil feeling like bottled is the way to go, you can buy one or two of the big bottles from IGA, then refill them at the school's water fountains. Most of them have a high pressure faucet, and you can fill a couple gallons in a minute or two.

Andy

PS ABout KFC, never had any problems! I get a sandwich there once a week or so.

How is that bottled?

Well, other than the fact that you will have put it there...

Where do you think the water at the school comes from?

The water is safe in that your not going to die if you drink it. If you are immunocompatent then your fine. you will get the Run, but thats basically it! The water on cmpus if Fine. i drank it all the time. it's Glover's and especially PEARLS thats the problem. i ate a wrap there during 4th term and i got dysentery. Guess what gives you dysentery. yeap micro... Eating and drinking off campus i.e restaurants, your garanteed the Run. i just wish you reach the bathroom on time. LOL

Is it?

I'm not insulted. Why would it be insulting to say that a particular people in a particular region might have a parasite that someone else might not?

It doesn't have to be untrue to be insulting. It is just an incredibly de-humanizing way of saying it....

Me = local.

Having said that, I don't think there was anything wrong with it. I certainly didn't take any offense.
