Your points make no sense at all.
You seem to think that fairness is unimportant. There are a LOT of students out there suffering from bad choices. Do you think that only the SC students deserve this? Do you think it is fair to the students who went about getting into SGU the right way deserve to see some classmates next semester getting a free pass? What about those that transfered into SGU from other schools, started over, and are paying full price? How would you like to be that person, and look over and see some SC flunky getting a free ride in the same classes as you.

I think your points make no sense at all. Please answer this one simple question, if a St. Chris student accepts this offer how is he getting a free ride (besides the tuition break)?
I am a St. Chris student with 3.3 Undergrad GPA and a 25 on my MCATs. I have also completed my basic sciences, finished 3 core rotations, and have passed my USMLE Step 1.
Are you telling me that I am not qualified to start at SGU? Wouldn't I be a better candidate then someone who has a 3.6 undergrad GPA and a 26 MCAT score?
If I do consider starting over, how am I getting a "free ride"? I still have to fill out the same application like everyone else, right? I still have to go on my interview like everyone else, right? My application still has to go in front of the Admissions Committee and get evaluated like everyone else, right? I fail to see your thought process in all this.
The only thing SGU is offering is the tuition break for the five basic science semesters (not the clinical education part). Which is a total of approximately 50K. Already being over 150 K in debt, this small tuition break would be nice, but it is not my driving factor in choosing to attend SGU. There have been other schools in the Big 4 which have offered students in my position a far better deal then SGU. I feel SGU is getting so much heat because they were the only school who posted it on the forum.
They did a noble thing by offering St. Chris students this, but after reading this thread I'm sure many students in St. Chris probably will not feel comfortable in attending SGU. I personally don't care what anyone else thinks, I am not here to make friends, only thing I am interested in is getting two letters behind my name.
You also need to understand, this type of tuition break has been offered before. I'm sure other students who attended medical school, and for some reason had to start over from scratch, SGU would consider giving them a scholarship as well.
You seem to have some kind of tunnel vision and keep missing the fact that SGU is not accepting
ALL St. Chris students, only the ones they feel are qualified.
