Anyone with a 24 on the MCAT asked to retake?
a friend of mine received a call today saying that he has been granted an interview, but has been asked to take the April MCAT again. I think his score(24) is fairly competitive for SGU and he has a GPA of around 3.3 or 3.4. I looked up the stats on the SGU website and it says that the avg of matriculants is 26... his 24 isnt that bad! I dont see why he was asked to take the MCAT again? Any one have any ideas? Do You know if it is possible to get out of retaking that test again.. cuz seriously its not fun!!

Mcat
I'd say thats strange. There are certainly those with scores under 24. I know a few people who were asked to retake the MCAT because they took a long time prior to applying. How long a go did your friend take it?

Also while the avg mcat is 26, the aug class tends to be more competitive and the avg for the aug class could be higher.

My friend called Bayshore and was told to write a letter to the Board asking them to reconsider. The person he talked to at bayshore also seemed surprised as to why he was aksed to retake the test. Hopefully it works out for him.
