    Advertisements

This thread is for any questions about our 4-year MBBS program. This program is designed for students who have at least a Bachelor's degree or higher and who want to pursue a medical degree. With how the program is structured students will study for the first two years at our London campus located in St George's Hospital. The final two years of study are then completed at one of our international clinical sites.

You can learn more about this program at: Study Medicine in the UK - International Graduate Medicine MBBS : INTO UK

UPDATE September 2014: You can learn more about this program and our university by taking a look at our 2015/16 brochure here.

UPDATE October 2014: We're pleased to announce our new US clinical site at The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Read more about our US clinical rotation site here: http://www.intohigher.com/uk/en-gb/o...lacements.aspx

UPDATE January 2015: As of January 2015, we offer two US clinical rotation sites to students studying in our 4-year International Graduate Medicine program. These sites are: Sidney Kimmel Medical College at T homas Jefferson University and The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Read more about our US clinical rotation sites here: http://www.intohigher.com/uk/en-gb/o...lacements.aspx

    Hi,

Where in the US do the clinical rotations take place in the US and which hospital's is St George's affiliated with? Is the degree accepted in all the 50 states of the US? If not, which state is it accepted in?

    Thanks

    Hi ramo89,

We're currently set up in the DC/Maryland area for clinical rotations in the US. We are looking at some other locations in the US as well and once those are confirmed I'll be sure to post on this site. Our program is not 50 state approved yet. We did submit an application to the CA medical board a few weeks ago to get added to their approval list there. For any other specific questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at namerica[@]sgul.ac.uk.

    Hi hkmed,

As I'm not a SGUL-Nicosia representative I recommend contacting one of their advisors to confirm any information relating to their program and state approvals.

    Hi hkmed,

Excluding states that follow the CA list and NY, we don't anticipate our students having additional hurdles finding a residency that will accept an INTO SGUL graduate. However, as these states all have different policies it's always best to check with the state medical board where you're interested in pursuing residency to see if a graduate from our program will need to complete any additional requirements prior to completing residency there.

I'm sorry but isn't SGUL Medical School already approved by the CA Medical Board? The university is on the list Welcome to the Medical Board of California - Medical Schools Recognized by the Medical Board of California

Or is it that the individual programs within the medical schools have to be approved by the MCB?

    Hi SMDoc,

Yes, SGUL Medical School is approved by the CA Medical Board, however, the INTO SGUL program has to be approved by them as well. SGUL administrators are managing the application for INTO SGUL's CA Medical Board approval and I'll be sure to post any updates about our request for approval on here once I'm notified of them.

As an update to information that's previously been posted about this program, I would like to inform you about a change in the US based clinical site for rotations in years 3 and 4. The clinical rotations for these years will now be based in Chicago, IL. You can read more about this update at our website here: Clinical Practice - International Graduate Medicine MBBS4 : INTO UK
