    International Graduate Medicine (MBBS 4)

This thread is for any questions about our 4-year MBBS program. This program is designed for students who have at least a Bachelor's degree or higher and who want to pursue a medical degree. With how the program is structured students will study for the first two years at our London campus located in St George's Hospital. The final two years of study are then completed at one of our international clinical sites.

You can learn more about this program at: Study Medicine in the UK - International Graduate Medicine MBBS : INTO UK

UPDATE September 2014: You can learn more about this program and our university by taking a look at our 2015/16 brochure here.

UPDATE October 2014: We're pleased to announce our new US clinical site at The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Read more about our US clinical rotation site here: http://www.intohigher.com/uk/en-gb/o...lacements.aspx

UPDATE January 2015: As of January 2015, we offer two US clinical rotation sites to students studying in our 4-year International Graduate Medicine program. These sites are: Sidney Kimmel Medical College at T homas Jefferson University and The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Read more about our US clinical rotation sites here: http://www.intohigher.com/uk/en-gb/o...lacements.aspx

    Hi Philip,

The information regarding state approvals that was mentioned in that post is still valid. If you have any additional questions about this please feel free to contact me at namerica[@]sgul.ac.uk.

I recommend you take a look at page 9 of our 2016/17 brochure as we've provided guidance there regarding this topic.

    Dear Shannon,

What are the students' plan after graduation if they did not go for US/Canada match this year? Any students applied for residency in the UK?

    Dear futuremed12,

Our 2012 student cohort was very small. Sharing of details on our students' destinations would potentially breach confidentiality requirements given the small number of graduating students; we can confirm that our students are all progressing to high quality destinations of their choice following graduation.

    Hi Shannon,

It will be immensely helpful if you could confirm if any from the 2012 cohort entered the UK foundation programme. This will help to bolster our confidence and alleviate concerns with regards to post-study option. If this cannot be shared, perhaps you could advice if you forsee any issues with future SGUL INTO students trying to enrol in the UKFPO?

    Cheers

    Hi Medunicorn,

Regarding staying in the UK post graduation, I recommend you review the guidance that can be found in our 2016/17 brochure (linked) on page 9.

    Hi,

The website no longer mentions that students requiring visa can only do the last year in the US. Does it mean that non-US/Canada/UK students now complete both clinical years in the US?

    Visas in the US

    Hi Bobakats,

Students who are eligible for a US visa are now able to remain in the US for the duration of the two clinical years as long as they are in compliance with the visa requirements. Of course, as an institution we cannot make projections on each individual's visa application, and with US immigration policies subject to change, there may be exceptions. With that said, INTO SGUL has developed the proper protocol to have all eligible students complete both clinical years in the US.
