St George’s and the Olympics

After months of anticipation, the countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games has ended and Olympic fever is fully fledged.

This summer the world’s eyes are on London and St George’s, University of London is embracing the Olympic spirit. Staff and alumni are supporting the Games in volunteering roles that include providing essential medical or therapeutic skills to the athletes at the Olympic Village. Scientists are researching new ways to improve the health of athletes. And one alumna’s charitable work in her field earned her a stint carrying flames.
