I need Term 1 books

Hi...i've just been accepted to SGU and am looking into buying the books and other things required of term 1. Can I buy the books used? is there anything in particular I need to buy from the bookstore (such as microsoft office)even if i already have a copy? Please send me some info if you are willing to part with your books.

Thanks!

you dont need to buy anything. all the term 1 books are already included in your tuition and will be waiting for you in SGU when you arrive.

thanks. I have read on previous forums though that you have to buy things from the bookstore? what about microsoft office? I'll have the newest version on my computer, will I still need to by the schools?

Also, what study aids do you recommend I get before coming to the island?

Depends on you.

My advice is do a search for reviews of books on amazon.com and on this site -- or better yet try to get to a medical bookstore and look at them yourself. A common mistake students make is buying books blindly.
Some options for searching -->

anatomy/biochemistry/physiology/histology/embryology in the following series:

-ridiculously simple books
-brs books
-high yield books
-first aid for step 1
-rohan color atlas of anatomy

Good luck.

what tralfaz said, different books work differently for ppl. so see which type of format you like and buy those. dont buy any med texts w/o doing some research and if possible a glance on how it suits your studying style. many ppl buy med texts and end up not using them b/c they dont like the format and style and end up wasting money, and med texts are expensive!
