How did you find apartments at Sunlight Chambers or 55 Degrees? Did you look online? And then you were able to sign a lease while in the US?

Also is it possible to take an iphone to the UK if its unlocked? What carrier can I get while I'm over there so that I will be able to use my iphone there?

I'm also looking for off-campus housing for this august - from what I hear sunlight chambers is where some of the SGU students live at.

Here are two links and phone numbers for realtors who have a good reputation in finding student housing in Newcastle - you can try to work with them to get information and pictures via e-mail from them. Just remember to let them know you're St. George's students.

Remember that most of the apts available thru the realtors I posted are for 2 people or more. Indeed, the best values are also found if you're willing to share. Please try to get in touch with other students to find someone you'd be willing to room with thru Facebook or this ValueMD forum.

Otherwise, let the realtors know you're looking for someone to share an apartment with, and see if they already have other SGU applicants who are also looking to share.

Lastly, if you don't want to sign a contract based on information and pictures that you get by e-mail, stay in a hotel or in a dorm during Orientation (Aug 10-16), and look for apts before classes start on Aug 17.
