I think they are working on getting a "traditional deferred" loan, but even the Financial Aid probably not sure what's going to happen by that time.

Question School Is Working On a Deferred Loan

Hey Everyone for January 2009,

I talked to the financial aid lady last wednesdsay. She informed me that they are currently working with companies to work out a deferred loan program for students.

She told me it should be up hopefully by November - December. However, it could be after that she said.

Which, probably means for the first semester I am going to have to take a private loan via my bank.

Any further news from anybody else?

Unhappy

I really, really hope that works out, b/c I'm already strongly leaning towards deferring from the Sept. 08 term!! At least, I hope to have earned some money to save by next term...anybody in the same situation???

Hey I spoke to the financial aid office this past week. They said for now they have private loans with Bethpage. These are not deferred loans, and so she advised to only take out the amount needed for first semester tuition. She also said by November there will be a student deferred loan, so that should all be in place for those of us beginning in Jan 09.

Question for everyone... how is everyone getting apartments? From the housing website, or are people actually going to visit the island and look for apartments before school starts?

Hello,

Congradulations on being accepted. I will being in Jan 09 as well. I'm so excited and looking forward to moving to the island and attending Sint Eustatius. Have you found any housing yet? I'm deciding were to have a roommate or have an appartment to myself. Have you heard anything new about the island or the school? Well, I know we will meet eachother when we get there because we will have the same classes so, looking forward to meeting you. Enjoy your summer now because our lives will be busy like crazy.

Peace,

Learlene
