Shelf Exams

Does this university have shelf exams for students? I was wondering if the library has shelf exams so students can view them when studying for the usmle? Also is the library equipped with suitable referernces ie merck manual, phy desk ref, also any review videos, or any usmle exams etc..

-Also i bought the BRS for gross anatomy, and BRS for Embryo. Is there any other review books i should get for first term or is that more than enough?

Yes, Yes, Yes, No. The school will supply usmle first aid and the kaplan review course will be part of the 5th term schedule as of next semester, i think. There are also S4 usmle high yield reviews occasionally, once or twice a week. You can make copies of any of the brs series from the library.

once again atpase WHO ARE YOU and what do you know about this subject???

I AM a student here and I think it is a wonderful opportunity and a student would be foolish not to take advantage of this. Not only does this improve one students outlook for the USMLE but with every years update of information it helps shape the curriculum for each and every class.

I believe corpsman will agree with me as soon as he gets out of the mississippi bayou wrastlin gators and lassooing wild boars.

i never said, its a bad idea. i just think, it should be optional, i am sure most students will take it, but why it should be mandatory, previously it was not mandatory.

The shelf exam has been mandatory since they instituted it. And why wouldn't you take the Kaplan course? Seeing as they raised the tuition just to pay for it. You should always get the most out of your money, don't you think.

Why don't you ask a school official why the review course and shelf exam aremandatory? They are more likely to know the answer than a bunch of us forum jockeys. Tell us when you get your anser.
