NY or Florida Approval previously?

Did St Eustatius once have NY approval for rotations and residency? and then maybe lose it, or fail to pay or something? I was told that they will be applying for NY approval within the next 1-2 years...but they have been around for a while and what is weird is that AUA already applied and had a site visit and they are less then 2 years old? I find that odd on both schools part. MUA-Nevis is older then St Eustatius so they can be explained easily, but why would AUA get approval so early? I have a feeling AUA is trying to blow up as fast as possible and get CA approval within the next few years.

There really isn't a time limit on CA approval. It is just tough for schools to meet the requirements. St. Matthew's had a CA inspection, and I don't think they have been around 10 years yet. Of course, they didn't get approved, but that is another arguement. G

Azskeptic- Are you referring to Sint Eustatius? I see they have a clinical site in FL, and possibly a student may be able to do more clinicals in FL then what is listed on the site (I am guessing). I thought schools had to have FL approval anyway for ANY clinicals? I am a bit confused. I was also told that Sint Eustatius has students doing residency in FL (which I will be confirming with Florida soon) and I thought residency also required approval of a school. I think it seems the biggest states for us IMG's are Geogia and Illinois...Atlanta and Chicago are huge areas for students to do both clinicals and residency without any problems, I am sure it is also easy to get permanent license in those states as well...only problem for me is that I really don't like either city, or state for that matter. The thing I like about statia's rotations is the Louisiana affiliations, lots of them...FL would be a place I would like to do my core rotations at but not sure if statia students can do that. I do know that AUA students can not do FL yet, correct? so confusing...

If you would like to see the report from the State of Florida email me at deanhughson@gmail.com and I'll send you the report. It is too big to post here. if I was a student I'd be careful..could get you in trouble in the long run. Contact the folks at:

http://www.firn.edu/doe/cie/

to verify what I tell you
