Thread: Document Mentioned In The Latest Update To The SCIMD Website

The latest update to the front page of the SCIMD website, apparently done on May 7th 2010, says:

El Hadji Ibrahima NIASSE University (UEIN) is chartered vide Ref 000809/AG/MEN/DES since February 2000 by the Ministry of Education and is permanently recognized by the Government of the Republic of Senegal, to confer MD Degrees...

Is a digitized copy of this "Ref 000809/AG/MEN/DES" available from SCIMD or the Ministry of Education in Senegal?

The way that the site looks and the wording in the area you are asking about it looks like mistyped code.

I'm assuming there was supposed to be a superscript with a url link attached.

I will pass along the concern to tech support and see if that can be fixed.

this is an old reference stating that in 2000 Senegalese ministry allowed the school to open

i honestly didn't look because Chapelier posted what it was i assumed the issue was done.

If you're on the internal students forum I'm 99% sure that its posted there somewhere... I probably have a copy of that on my computer somehwere too.

If you look hard enough it may even be on the old SCCM part of the forum here... not sure.. but i can bet it was referenced somewhere...

If you have big issues finding it let me know and I can dig it up. If you need the paper work for licensure in a specific state or province I would go through the senegal campus and have the office send a copy directly to the board. I needed to do that when I was working through licensure.

It just seems very odd to discuss the document on the main webpage and then not have a digital copy of it present on the website.

St Chris has the letter that was issued by the minister of education which confirms the official approval of St. Chris to operate in Senegal from 2006 displayed prominently on the Charter subsection of the website but not the original, actual charter document from 2000. Don't you think the actual charter approval would be one of the most important documents to have on the website regarding the approval of the school?

I agree.. but it is kind of a moot point to actually post up something like that. I'm not aware of any other school that does that (but admittedly did not search hard - or at all)

The 2006 letter is there more for a verification of a continuity since that was the time period where the school had some difficulties and required reverification.

The evidence of charter in 2000 is evidenced by the Avicenna listing indicating the start date as that needed to be verified by the Ministry prior to having the listing updated on their directory.

is there a more recent proclamation that Senegal's Department of education recognizes St. Christopher's?

Yes that is correct a year and to no resolution. I have not had multiple emails answered. I was given incorrect mailing addressed and now Im being told that 4 of my letters sent to your institution were not received. As of latest my last 4 emails were not answered as I have sent them to every email known to me for your institution and administration.
