I was checking the ASIC's accreditation list of schools on their website: ASIC.org.uk. I don't see the school listed on the website as being accredited by them. Can someone point out where they are listed?

510 points OK, I answered my own question. I emailed ASIC and they did confirm they have accredited the school. Here is the email. I have called several of the degree evaluation companies to see what kind of documents they need to determine if the school is comparable to US medical schools. One of the items that helps is independant accreditation. Reminder, ASIC does not accredit St. Chris to allow their students to take the PLAB and work in the UK. Approval to take the PLAB comes directly from the GMC.
Thank you for your email.
I can confirm that SCIMD College of Medicine and were accredited by ASIC on 11/06/09 and are listed as a Premier College. ASIC therefore, can only deal with issues that have arisen since this accreditation date. If your query falls during this period, then please recontact me with the specific details.

As discussed on PM.. there are very few (if no) non LCME schools that a US medical school would take credits as equivalent or even a governing body of any kind. SCIMD is not at that level yet and I would guess it would be a very long time if they would ever be.
The best way to show "equivalency" of your degree from any FMG school is to pass you USMLE's and become board certified in an area. This still doesn't make you "equal" but it helps level the field.

510 points Actually, I am not using this for medical purposes. Instead, I am not in a residency. I am a going to be a teacher. My salary increases substantially if I can use my MD degree. As a teacher in the USA, a person is paid by how much education they have received. An MD counts as a Phd in most school districts (I am in the San Diego School District, and they count the MD as equal to Phd for salary purposes). Therefore, I will get paid a Phd salary if a foreign transcript evaluator can determine if the credits I gained at St. Chris were equavalent to the credits received at a similar US school. This does not mean St. Chris is "approved" or accredited by the US.
People come to the USA all the time from foreign schools and get credit for the work they have done at those foreign schools. An example is medical schools in the Caribbean. According to one foreign transcript evaluator, ECE (www.ece.org). I have spoken to them and they said the accrediting body they use to determine if the schools are equivalent to US schools is CAAM-HP. This is an independant accrediting body for many countries in the Caribbean. Any school CAAM-HP accredits are considered equavalent (as far as ECE is concerned) to a US medical school, even though they are not "approved" or "accredited" by the US. CAAM-HP accredits St. Georges Medical School and Ross Medical School. These two schools are also approved by the USA to obtain Federal govt loans. Although, CAAM-HP also accredits other schools in the Caribbean that are not approved for US federal loans, but are still considered equavalent for credit evaluation purposes.
Again, this equavalent purpose is not for medical purposes, only for academic uses. In my case, only for salary ranking purposes at a school district.
I know that St. Chris has been evaluated by ASIC in the UK, and this may help to obtain equilivancy for my purposes as well as any Senegal government accreditation department.
I need to know what government authority in Senegal is responsible for accrediting St. Chris in Senegal. The address and contact information is needed for the Foreign Transcript Evaluators to confirm St. Chris is indeed accredited by them.
Here is the address for one particular Foreign Transcript Evaluator:

It looks like I spoke too soon. I apologize, hole, for the attitude in my reply to your OP.
In the past SCIMD has always had the letter from the Ministry of Education in Senegal officially recognizing the college on the main website. However, in the latest revision, it's mysteriously absent. This is very strange and very concerning. This was the one piece of information that showed the government of Senegal was aware of the existence of SCIMD and accepted its presence.
SCIMD Official, has something transpired in Senegal that necessitated the letter from the Ministry of Education be removed from the SCIMD website? Should students be bracing for yet another "impact"?
As far as the letter in question, here is a link to the PDF of the letter that used to be on the official SCIMD website, hopefully it will be useful:
Letter From The Ministry Of Education In Senegal Concerning The Recognition Of SCIMD - Download PDF
Here's where it used to be located on the previous revision of the SCIMD website:
African Charter of St. Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine

The charter letter is still there. Direct link below or simply click on the the "about SCIMD" tab on the website --> charter. RobOman are you unable to view the above from the site? If so then can you provide the error message you see and I will have it corrected.
Charter
I think jackson hole is asking for something other than charter recognition which is how I've interpereted the request. My understanding is he is looking for the government body that reviewed the actual courses and approved the content to meet requirements for licensure in senegal. Charter is an easy answer and evidenced by WHO/Avicenna listing and letter on the site. Who reviews the courses and accredits them in senegal I don't know.

With the direct link provided I can get to the Charter page, but it isn't appearing on the "About SCIMD" page for me. I'll have to see what is going on with my browser. For some reason it doesn't seem to like this new siteLeave it to my laptop to be the only one with a problem.
I figured the MoE would be the evaluating Ministry since I can't imagine an entity being accredited without the contents of its educational offerings being evaluated by that ministry.
