Admission Standard...

Simply put-there is NONE.

Here, EVERYONE gets a chance. I know people who didn't even have an admissions interview, they were told to just show up for class. I can say, however, that there are a lot of genuinely competitive students here. But there are also a lot of Carib school transfers who transferred strictly because they were FAILING.

TBT.

Ask a transfer student

About students failing medical school, I think there can be more than academics behind this courageous act: As someone very influential once said:

I was gonna go to class before I got high
I coulda cheated and I coulda passed but I got high
I am taking it next semester and I know why
- cause I got high

i love that song...very funny US schools don't have students who fail they force everyone to pass with forced tutoring and study sessions. most get public funding for how many students they have enrolled so they have so much vested that they can't afford to loose any students....actually i'm sure there is a failure rate just severely lower than any of ours....

Great

You have a delightful command of the english language, and I have no difficulty understanding what you are trying to say. I guess some people here are just cunning linguists

Who cares what they say, as long as you like the emoticons you are using, nothing else matters. G

US students can fail as well

About US students failing, it does happen. Simply look at how some international medical students’ transfer third year into US programs. It is allowed because some students either fail or drop out and the school then fills the spot to obtain government funding. Despite the schools standards, US medical students are capable of fail, however, the attrition is likely far less than most foreign medical schools catering US citizens. Medical School is rigorous; it must be in order to pass the USMLE no matter were you get your medical education.

st. chris curve

I have been told by friends and relatives at St. Chris that the curve there is huge. And I mean considerably larger than the curve at some other schools. People who do not study well can pass the classes. Those that fail are the ones that do nothing at all.

The huge curve is also known by transfer students. Students who failed at other schools can go to St. Chris and can pass the classes. What is the huge curve for? Another "administration-way" to make St. Chris popular?

Hey RichS

Remember one thing, it all depends on the professor you have, and how lenient he/she might be. Not all professors are the same. You'll come across some that will drill you with tons of info and make you bust your butt in and out of class, some do it for your own good and most importantly your self knowledge and some just do it because they think it's a tradition, since they went thru professors that made it hell for them they tell themselves well I went thru it so all of my students will have to go thru it too. And you'll have some professors that will make it easier on you and your class mate. It all depends on the actual individual. But that SC has a hugh curve, I can easily say it doesn't apply to all professors. As far as I know it's just the Embryo class this semester, but again it all depends on the prof.
