This is what I concluded for the Sept 2003 incoming class: Once you arrive in England in August/Sept, if the English immigration officer gives us approval for our full 2 year stay until April 2005 then yes it does not affect us goin in Sept 2003. BUT, like bts4202 said, if you get a mean immigration officer and he/she only gives you approval on a semester basis, then after our first semester, we need to get an entrance clearance. hopefully i am right.....

Further to

8. What will happen if I arrive on or after November 13th without Entry Clearance?

There will be a grace period lasting until midnight on 13 January 2004. After the grace period passengers arriving without the necessary entry clearance will be refused entry.

Entrance clearance

for the UK starting in Nov may be costly. For a legal team to do it for you its approximately $150 per person. If you ahve to have it done when you arrive...its $250UK, more than 2.5 times as much.

Avoid it at all costs. get the Clearance done now for you Jan termers. They do mean business. They are flooded with visa requests by refugee African Nationals and are just doing a blanket fee to discourage anyone from there from applying for an immigration visa.
